Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha said there is no actual faction within the party led by former disgraced chairman Lulzim Basha and the acting chairman appointed by him Enkelejd Alibeaj, which he considers as hostages of Albanian Premier Edi Rama.

“Hostages will be hostages. They only comply with the orders of their hostage taker. There is no faction. There is a faction of Edi Rama's hostages, consisting of two people: Luli “The Locksmith” Basha and Alibeaj. That's it!”, said Berisha.

“The Democratic Party is one and only one, it is the membership, it is the one that has the massive support of the Albanian citizens, it is the one that has the decision of the Court of Fact on the registration and it cannot be hit by any other means. It will be miserable for those who will continue the battle with this force that has freedom as its energy and inspiration. It is capable of resisting any mafia and it proved that. This makes proud every Albanian, every free person”.
