Former Albanian Premier Sali Berisha spoke about a hot issue right now, the investigation of the Belgian authorities over disgraced chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha.

Berisha said Basha lied to the Belgian prosecutors that were in Tirana to question him about the Toyota Yaris case and they told him to find a lawyer because hard days are lying ahead.

After the Q&A with the Belgian authorities, Basha tried to shown the investigation is a competence of the Albanian authorities.

Berisha said nothing would stop the Belgian investigation. “Enough with swearing in behalf of SPAK (Albanian Special Structure against Corruption and Serious Crimes) and BKH (Albanian National Bureau of Investigation)”, said Berisha. According to him, Belgian authorities have the right to investigate and arrest Basha, even fly him directly to Brussels.

A day earlier, Albanian journalist Artan Hoxha said the money that entered Albania aboard two Toyotas belonged to a gang with links to Basha.

Berisha added Basha’s links with the criminal organization will come to light despite his efforts.
